Industrial Solenoid Valves for Water, Air, Steam & Oil

Start with five parameters: medium, orifice size, port thread, working pressure and medium temperature. The medium decides the seal material, NBR for water and air, EPDM for hot water, FKM for oil and fuel, PTFE for steam. Orifice size determines flow, not the port thread. Then confirm your line pressure stays inside the valve pressure range and that your control voltage matches an available coil. Send these five values to our engineers and we will confirm the model.

A normally closed valve stays shut when the coil is de-energized and opens only when powered. A normally open valve stays open when de-energized and closes when powered. Normally closed is the default for safety in water, air and fuel lines because the flow stops on power loss. Normally open is used where flow must continue during a power failure, such as some cooling or venting circuits.

Direct acting valves open by the coil force alone and work from zero pressure, but they are limited to small orifice sizes. Pilot operated valves use line pressure to open the main diaphragm, so they support large orifices and higher flow, but they need a minimum pressure differential, usually 0.03 to 0.05 MPa. If your system starts from zero pressure, choose direct acting.

Standard coil voltages are AC24V, AC110V, AC220V, DC12V and DC24V. Miniature series also offers DC3V and DC6V. Voltage is selected at order time and cannot be changed afterwards, so confirm your control supply before ordering. Custom voltages such as AC380V or DC110V are available for OEM orders above the minimum order quantity.

Yes. Standard stock valves use G (BSP) thread. NPT thread versions are produced on order for most series. State the thread standard clearly in your inquiry, because BSP and NPT are not interchangeable and mixing them causes joint leakage. NPT orders may have a longer lead time than stock BSP items.
