Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers on selection, installation, ordering and after-sales. Each answer states the conclusion first, then the parameters behind it.
Selection
Start with five parameters: medium, orifice size, port thread, working pressure and medium temperature. The medium decides the seal material, NBR for water and air, EPDM for hot water, FKM for oil and fuel, PTFE for steam. Orifice size determines flow, not the port thread. Then confirm your line pressure stays inside the valve pressure range and that your control voltage matches an available coil. Send these five values to our engineers and we will confirm the model.
A normally closed valve stays shut when the coil is de-energized and opens only when powered. A normally open valve stays open when de-energized and closes when powered. Normally closed is the default for safety in water, air and fuel lines because the flow stops on power loss. Normally open is used where flow must continue during a power failure, such as some cooling or venting circuits.
Direct acting valves open by the coil force alone and work from zero pressure, but they are limited to small orifice sizes. Pilot operated valves use line pressure to open the main diaphragm, so they support large orifices and higher flow, but they need a minimum pressure differential, usually 0.03 to 0.05 MPa. If your system starts from zero pressure, choose direct acting.
Standard coil voltages are AC24V, AC110V, AC220V, DC12V and DC24V. Miniature series also offers DC3V and DC6V. Voltage is selected at order time and cannot be changed afterwards, so confirm your control supply before ordering. Custom voltages such as AC380V or DC110V are available for OEM orders above the minimum order quantity.
Yes. Standard stock valves use G (BSP) thread. NPT thread versions are produced on order for most series. State the thread standard clearly in your inquiry, because BSP and NPT are not interchangeable and mixing them causes joint leakage. NPT orders may have a longer lead time than stock BSP items.
Installation
Install the valve with the coil upright and the arrow on the body pointing in the flow direction. Fit a strainer upstream to protect the pilot orifice from particles. Use proper thread sealant on the connection, avoid overtightening the body with a pipe wrench on the coil side, and leave access space for coil removal. For steam lines add insulation clearance and confirm the seal material rating before commissioning.
Check four causes in order. First, verify the supply voltage matches the coil marking. Second, confirm line pressure is above the minimum differential required by pilot operated valves. Third, inspect the pilot orifice for blockage by pipe debris and clean the internal parts. Fourth, confirm the valve is installed in the correct flow direction with the coil upright. If all four are correct, the coil winding may be damaged and should be replaced.
Yes for most series. The coil is fixed by a nut or clip on the stem and can be removed with the body left in the line. Isolate pressure and disconnect power first. Replacement coils are supplied separately, and the coil voltage and model marking must match the original specification.
Order & Shipping
Sample orders of one to five pieces are accepted for evaluation. Standard stock models ship in small cartons without a fixed minimum. OEM orders with custom voltage, thread, seal material or laser marking have a minimum order quantity that depends on the series, and we confirm it at quotation stage.
Stock models are usually dispatched within three to five working days after order confirmation. Made to order configurations such as NPT thread, custom voltage or stainless 316 body take around fifteen to twenty five working days. Shipping time depends on the method: express takes about five to eight days, air freight seven to twelve days, and sea freight twenty five to forty five days to major ports.
Yes. OEM service includes custom coil voltage, thread standard, seal material, body material and laser marking of your model number. ODM service covers structure modification and new model development based on your specification drawing. Send your requirements with target parameters and annual quantity, and our engineers will reply with a feasibility assessment.
After-sales
Standard warranty covers twelve months from shipment against manufacturing defects in body, coil and seal assembly under normal operating conditions. Damage caused by wrong medium, over pressure, over temperature or incorrect voltage is not covered. Warranty claims require the model number, batch code and a short description of the failure condition with photos.
Yes. Every valve passes coil energizing test and seal leakage test before packing. Batch test records can be provided on request. For orders requiring third party inspection, we can arrange access for your nominated inspection company at our facility before shipment.
Send the model number, order reference, operating conditions (medium, pressure, temperature, voltage) and a description of the fault with photos or a short video to our sales email. Our engineers review the information and reply with a diagnosis within 24 hours on business days, including whether a spare part, coil replacement or full valve replacement is required.
